  • AAPA - The American Academy of Physician Assistants
  • AKF - American Kidney Fund - certifies the kidney camps
  • NKF - National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area
  • Fresenius - provider of dialysis treatment and product
  • Project Linus - a nationwide group of quilters
  • Gambro - the largest provider of dialysis in the US
  • Davita - dialysis treatments and support

Quilt for a camp bed needs to be 45" x 70".
Smaller lap quilts should be at least 45" x 30".

Contributors include patients and staff of dialysis clinics and Fresenius clinics in the metro DC area.

Recipients include children -- "kids" -- attending "kidney camps" for children with special medical needs, particularly kidney disease, but also including those with blood disease, HIV, transplants, etc.

The AAKP (American Association of Kidney Patients)
maintains a list of kidney camps.

One of the camps is Camp Holiday Trails in Charlottesville, Virginia.
